Epoxy Coating- Surrounding all of the heavy-gauge steel is SCHULTE’s unique Ultra-Glide epoxy coating. 85 years worth of experience has gone into perfecting the formula. It is a virtually indestructible coating that is impossible to find on any other product. Closetmaid uses a vinyl coating for its shelving. The vinyl breaks down very quickly because it is not bonded to the steel. For this reason the vinyl becomes sticky, it discolors, and begins to tear when used. The epoxy coating SCHULTE uses is chemically bonded to the steel shelving so it never wears, becomes sticky, discolors, or tears.
